The Dhaka Times Desk The era of computers has come. Keeping pace with the world has now emerged as a challenge for every nation. And to meet that challenge, India is making the world's cheapest computer. Officially these computers are being distributed to the students. The small-sized tablet computer will be sold to students for just 1,130 rupees ($20).
The computer developed under Public Private Partnership (PPP) is named Aakash-2, this computer has been made to make computer technology accessible to students. President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated this computer. News from AFP.
The Akash-2 computer has a three times more powerful processor and a larger touchscreen. Its screen is 7 inches wide and it runs Google's Android operating system. Its battery can run continuously for three hours after a single charge. Pranab Mukherjee said in the inaugural function that technology-rich knowledge is a very important aspect of national education. We have to take this education for our own needs and spread its light in all the educational institutions of the country. The government released the first version of Akash Computer in the market in October last year. But its battery was not that strong. According to the Ministry of Human Resource Development of India, more than 15 thousand teachers of 250 colleges have been trained on the use of Aakash-2 computers to provide the necessary education to students.
