ISIL members in Iraq have abducted 60 foreigners, including Bangladeshis

The Dhaka Times Desk Iraq's ISIL members have kidnapped 60 foreigners including Bangladeshis, media reported.

According to media reports, the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, also known as ISIL, is based in the Sunni community in Iraq. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey said that the Turkish Embassy in Baghdad is investigating the abduction of the 60 foreign nationals. Among those abducted are 15 Turkish nationals. However, the news agencies did not confirm how many Bangladeshi citizens are among the abductees.

The Dogan news agency quoted an official released from ISIL as saying that the abducted construction workers included citizens of Pakistan, Nepal and Turkmenistan in addition to Bangladesh.

It is to be noted that recently, after Iraq's ISIL occupied Mosul, in such a situation in Iraq, the Bangladesh government has ordered to stop sending workers there.
