He came to Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, through a local education consultant after seeing an advertisement in a Bangladeshi student newspaper. Those education consultants promised that one can earn good income by working part time along with studying in Malaysia. His parents sent the son abroad by selling land and taking loans. Maybe everything is fine, he is also doing part time job. But with the income that comes from it, very little money is saved apart from the cost of reading and writing.
The student told the media, meanwhile, there is no comfort even working, there is no time to study after work. Dizziness. Due to the workload, his first semester results were not good. Again there is no motion without work. In the country, you can't even talk about the hardships to your parents.
His parents spent their hard earned money and sent him here hoping to change his life. Parents at home know their son is well and at peace. They know that the boy is working and studying. Not only that student, many like him are living like this in Malaysia.
Boys and girls from middle class families face more problems when they go to Malaysia. Because there is no full time job while studying in Malaysia. Part time jobs are only in restaurants or shopping malls here. Again talking about part time jobs, no one wants to work less than 8 hours per day. And so you have to work full time in the name of part time. But the salary is hourly. Hourly wages are 5-7 ringgit (1 ringgit = 24 taka). Accordingly, the monthly income is 1200 to 1500 ringgit. Accommodation, food and transportation costs around 500 to 700 ringgit per month.
Then there is the cost of university. Around 600 to 700 ringgit per month. They have very little money. Many students can no longer study under the pressure of work. Going to class is no longer theirs.
It is known that only doctors, engineers and skilled workers have more job opportunities. Their salary is also very high due to which it is possible to study and send money to the country even after working. Besides, there is another business. Many of those who have the ability or have relatives have gone on to do business there. But the condition of these common or middle class is very pathetic. They don't even want to let their families know about this situation. And so they remain anonymous to speak.
However, the students who are victims of these ironies say that no other student of Bangladesh should migrate to Malaysia after selling land and spending money in the hope of part-time job. Because there will be no gain, the dream you come to Malaysia with will only be broken.
