The Dhaka Times Desk Drone surveillance has been widely criticized around the world. There has also been a lot of talk about American drones in Pakistan. Drones are in the news again. Recently there have been reports in the media that Indian drones will monitor the Sundarbans.
According to the newspaper, the Indian Navy will conduct surveillance using this unmanned aircraft drone in the coastal area adjacent to the India-Bangladesh Sundarbans. For this purpose, the Indian Ministry of Defense has already requested land from the airport authority to keep the UAV or drone aircraft at Behala Airport in South Kolkata. The Public Relations Officer of the Union Ministry of Defense told the media that Behala airport has already been identified for the operation of the aircraft. For this, 15 acres of land has been requested from the airport authority. The matter of land transfer is now under process. If everything goes well, surveillance by drones in the coastal areas of eastern India will start from Behala this year, the central country's defense ministry told the media.
According to a news report citing a spokesperson of the Indian Ministry of Defense, this remotely controlled drone will continue surveillance from within Indian borders. Pictures of that area will be taken from inside the dense forest. The movements of infiltrators or 'militants' on the base will be detected by the airwaves on naval monitors. Due to which it is believed that it will be possible to prevent all kinds of anti-Indian activities including infiltration of the sea coast very easily.
It is to be noted that earlier also the news came out that Indian drones will monitor the border of Bangladesh. However, the Indian authorities denied the news at that time.
