The Dhaka Times Desk Two crore rupees were stolen from BRAC Bank in Joypurhat. The theft is believed to have taken place sometime on Friday night.
It is known that this theft happened at the main branch of private BRAC Bank Limited located on the 2nd floor of Shajahan Plaza on the main road of Jaipurhat city. The theft is believed to have happened sometime on Friday night. Initially, it is estimated that around two crore rupees may be stolen.
The matter was reported to the Sadar police station on Saturday morning. According to police sources, this theft may have happened last night. The two men entered the bank by cutting through the eastern wall. It is initially believed that the thieves broke the bank's vault and stole Tk 1 crore 95 lakh. But the exact amount of money may be less or more. The manager of that branch of the bank is currently staying in Dhaka. The media said that the details will be known when he returns.
On receiving the news of the incident, around 10 am, Jaipurhat Additional Superintendent of Police Abdul Mannan visited the spot. The police told the media that the investigation is going on.
