MA Motin-001

People will depart from the world, this is an eternal truth. But there are some people who are immortal. The people of the world can never repay their contribution. One such person is our Bhasha Matin. A person without pride, without greed. Everyone knows about his role in Bayannar language movement. He is the language soldier Abdul Mateen. A different person. I have seen him, he is a simple man. Lust for power never overcame him. He could live a luxurious life as a minister if he wanted. But he never did. No one could shake him. He spends his days suffering like a common man wearing chatty sandals. That language matin is not among us today. He has gone beyond. But his ideal remains among us. The norm is not to prey. He also donated his body before his death. His donors will see the world now.

College teacher Iqbal Kabir and health worker Reshma Nasreen are seeing the world anew through the eyes of linguist Abdul Matin. Two corneas of Bhashasain Abdul Mateen have been transplanted in their two eyes.

The two who saw the light of the world with Bhasha Matin's cornea said that they will continue to follow the ideals of language soldier Abdul Matin for the rest of their lives. Abdul Matin informed about the decision to donate the body and eyes to the students of Dhaka Medical College on September 5 while he was undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). After he died on October 8, his eyes were collected by the seeker. The next day, his two corneas were transplanted into Iqbal's and Reshma's eyes at Thandhani Eye Hospital in the capital.

According to media sources, 27-year-old Reshma Nasreen is a resident of Sialpur village in Dhamrai Upazila of Dhaka. He is working as a health care provider at Suapur Community Clinic in the same upazila. 2 years ago he developed a problem in the cornea of his left eye. At one time he could not see anything in those eyes. After corneal grafting, he now sees in both eyes. Last Saturday, Reshma told the media on the phone, 'I am seeing the light of the world through the eyes of a big man like Abdul Mateen. It's a big deal for me.'

On the other hand, 40 years old. Iqbal Kabir teaches at Banglabazar Chandghazi School and College in Chagalnaiya Upazila of Feni District. He also lost sight in his left eye 2 years ago due to glaucoma. He said in his response to the media, 'This great man has worked for the people, for the country all his life. A part of his body now exists in my body. I will see the world through his eyes. I will conduct my thoughts following his ideals.' This teacher said that from now on students and people of their own environment will be aware about posthumous eye donation.

It should be noted that many people will be encouraged to posthumously donate their eyes after hearing the news of the eye donation of people like Bhashasainik Abdul Matin. Assistant Professor Md. Sheesh Rahman of Ophthalmology Department of BSMMU has successfully transplanted the cornea in the eyes of these two.
