Jamaat-e-Islami has called for a nationwide 72-hour strike on Thursday-Rori and Monday to protest the death sentence of Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Matiur Rahman Nizami on charges of crimes against humanity.
Jamaat-e-Islami acting Amir Maqbul Ahmad and Acting Secretary General Dr. in a statement sent to the media today Wednesday. Shafiqur Rahman announced this program of 3 days strike.
Accordingly, the hartal has been called from 6 am on Thursday to 6 am on Friday and from 6 am on Sunday to 6 am on Tuesday.
It is to be noted that the 3-member bench led by Justice M Inayetur Rahim of the International Criminal Tribunal-1 announced the death sentence in the presence of Nizami on Wednesday in a crowded court.
