According to media reports, at least 2,000 people have been killed in an attack by Boko Haram to establish Islamic Sharia law in the Nigerian city of Baja, according to Amnesty International. The London-based human rights group on Friday called the attack the "worst massacre" in Boko Haram's history. The organization said in a report that the city of Baja was destroyed. At least 2,000 people of the city were killed.
The news media quoted the local district administration as saying that most of the victims were women, children and the elderly. Boko Haram entered the town and indiscriminately attacked residents with rocket-propelled grenades. When they started shooting with rifles, these people died because they could not run away quickly.
It should be noted that more than 10,000 people were killed last year alone in the Boko Haram rampage that has been going on for the past 5 years. And in this attack that started from last Wednesday, 2 thousand people were killed in just 3 days till Friday.
