The Dhaka Times Desk As modern technology has brought many opportunities, hackers are getting stronger because of it!
According to media reports, these hackers have discovered a new bug in the process of turning URLs into IP addresses. It is said that hackers can take advantage of that vulnerability to take various sites offline. By this, common users will suffer.
According to the BBC, hackers can take advantage of such a weakness in the Internet communication system to have a major negative impact on the entire Internet connection. Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks on websites will become easier for hackers.
The report also said that hackers will be able to crash the Domain Name System (DNS) software by taking advantage of that bug. A software patch has been issued for the bug, but the patch is still not widely used, the BBC report noted.
Daniel Seid, a networking expert at cyber security company Sukuri, told the BBC that several customers of Sukuri have suffered DNS server crashes because of that bug. However, experts have not yet found a solution. They are researching various ways to keep servers safe from hackers.
