The students of Bangladesh have won the science and technology robot competition by defeating hundreds of science warriors from around the world. Bangladeshi robot will spread light in space! Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) students have shown an incredible success by making robots in the 4th Lunabotics Mining Competition of the US space research agency NASA.

According to media reports, the fourth annual Lunabotics Mining Competition was held from 20 to 24 May 2013 at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA. Students from the best science and technology universities in different countries participated in the competition with robots that could go to the moon and collect soil or dust. The robot that is more active or effective in terms of work and ability is the one that is under the eyes of the organizing authorities. The best one is selected from among these participating robots. Artificial lunar surface is also made for competition ie to check the ability of robots to work. The competition tested the ability to pick up the dust kept there and throw it in the designated place. Also the speed of work, how much weight the dust can take - was also in the consideration of the judges.

In the first phase of the competition, the Mechatron robot made by Bangladesh BUET students took their position by pulling the top. This robot collects 10.4 kg of dust. Later, due to mechanical failure, they were not able to maintain their position in the competition. As the reason, the team leader MM Shaik Ibn Farooqi said, our robot was broken into 8 parts due to exceeding the budget due to the cost of moving to Texas. After going there and re-pairing it, it still has a bit of a crack. Due to which the chain broke during 4 minutes of the race. Because of the new experience from this competition, they are now preparing to participate in the rover competition by making chainless robots.

It is known that an international organization in Poland named 'European Rover Challenge' (ERC) organizes this competition. Europe's largest space research organization 'Robotics Event ERC' is the organizer of this science fair.

The two-day event includes 'International Mars Rover Competition' and 'Science and Technology Exhibition'. It hosts all major tech events including the European Space Foundation. A total of 34 teams from the United States, Netherlands, Canada, Spain, Italy, Australia, Bangladesh, Turkey, Colombia, India and Egypt will participate in the International Mars Rover Competition. This competition will be held on September 5 and 6 in Poland. The participating team from BUET is called 'Interplanetators'. A team of 17 faculty members will participate in this competition. Their rovers collect sand, rock and bore deep into the soil to collect samples and send data. It was developed by 27 members of BUET's Mechanical and Electrical Engineering department. It is said that this group will leave on September 1.
