The Dhaka Times Desk Arrests upon entry into Hungary have been announced to prevent resident aspirants. And so once again the inhuman scene of cutting the barbed wire fence is visible.
The country's police have declared a state of emergency so that no more refugees can enter Hungary. Special powers have also been given to the police. In protest, the migrants near the border fence have started a hunger strike. The Hungarian police arrested 60 people trying to enter Hungary after crossing the Katatar fence.
On the other hand, 13 refugees, including at least 4 children, were killed when a boat sank on their way to Greece by boat from Turkey, according to media sources. However, the Turkish Coast Guard rescued 205 refugees alive from that boat. The boat had left Datka, a coastal town in southwestern Turkey, bound for the Greek island of Kos.
Many people from Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Africa are going to Turkey to go to Greece. Their hope is to enter an EU country from Greece. Recently, the picture of the dead body of 3-year-old Syrian refugee Aylan Kurdi lying on a beach in Turkey caused a great stir around the world. Aylan wanted to reach the island of Kos with his family. But Aylan along with one brother and mother died in the boat sinking. This incident sparked a storm of protest across Europe. The flow of refugees seeking to cross the Mediterranean to Europe continues. Even though the European Union has established a quota-based refugee asylum rule, many countries are not complying with it. Only Germany and Austria have sheltered more refugees.
