The Dhaka Times Desk The refugee issue is a global crisis. Several countries are dealing with thousands of refugees. More refugees are entering Austria again.
According to news media, the dispute between the European Union (EU) countries over the quota of refugees is gradually increasing. Another 10,000 migrants entered Austria last Saturday. Initially, these migrants were sent by Hungary to Croatia.
On the other hand, Croatia has said that they are unable to shelter 20,000 refugees who have come for a few days. Hungary is also pushing these migrants to Austria, alleging that Croatia is breaking international law by not registering the migrants' names.
Some migrants told the BBC that Hungary did not even register their names. Austrian police earlier said they expected 10,000 migrants to enter Austria.
The head of the Austrian Red Cross, Gerry Fitik, told the media that 12,000 to 13,000 refugees had entered Austria. Kristian Stella, deputy police chief of Austria's Burgenland, said Hungary was not pressured enough to offer asylum to refugees.
Austrian Interior Minister Johanna Mikl-Littner complained that neighboring countries had failed to follow EU rules.
On the other hand, Croatian Prime Minister Zoran Milonovic said that they will continue to push refugees to Hungary and force Hungary to accept them.
Strongly protesting this, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Zizzarto said that Croatia is violating international law. They are pushing these refugees to Hungary without registering their names.
