Tuka and Yakin were twin babies whose heads were attached to each other from birth. Their heads were surgically separated. Although their heads are attached together, they both have separate brains. That is why this long and complicated operation was successful.
22 doctors and nurses were employed for Tuka and Yakin's operation. After 10 hours of continuous operation, they gave the good news that the operation was successful.
The twin girls were operated on by pediatricians at the King Abdulaziz Medical Hospital in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, on February 14.
A spokesman for the hospital said: 'This was actually the fourth and last operation on these children in Syria. Earlier in April 2014 these twins were operated once more.'
