According to Zee News, Rajasthan BJP MLA Kailash Chowdhury made an explosive comment that Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi should be hanged or shot dead.
February 9 was the first anniversary of the execution of Afzal Guru, who was responsible for the 2001 attack on the Indian Parliament. On this day, student leader Kanya Kumar called for a protest at the traditional Jawaharlal Nehru University. The police arrested him on charges of sedition. Tensions rose in various universities over the issue.
Students and teachers of at least 18 universities took to the field. In such a situation, Rahul Gandhi joined the student protest of Jawaharlal Nehru University. That is why MLA Kailash Chowdhury, elected from Bytu in Barmar district of Rajasthan, brought that sharp attack against him.
