"We always wanted to do something with video," Steve Chen said of the idea behind today's hugely popular YouTube. But what could be the real application? Ultimately YouTube was thought of as a dating site.'
He said, 'A person will show his identity on YouTube through his video. He will give a description of what kind of partner he wants or prefers. YouTube was born from such an idea.
Steve Chen said, 'And so the domain registration of this site is on a Valentine's Day! YouTube was launched on February 14 by the three co-founders. There were only 3 of them on their site then. So they had nothing to do. No one uploaded a video within 5 days of launch. Frustrated, they decided to forget about dating. It was decided to introduce it for any type of video upload. That decision was absolutely correct, it can now be said with a guarantee.'
It is known that Google bought YouTube in 2006 for 1.6 billion dollars. At least 1 billion visitors watch videos here every month. Recently ad-free subscription models have also been developed. Named 'YouTube Red'. It will provide all original videos.
Recently Steve Chen and former YouTube alum VJ Karunamurthy launched their new video startup 'Noam'. A live-streaming app has also been launched. Through which its customers can upload any topic related to celebrities and restaurants.
