Before the Australia match in T20 World Cup Bangladesh played a big shock. Spinner Arafat Sani and pacer Taskin Ahmed, the only specialist in the T20 World Cup team, have been banned from international cricket as the action proved illegal.
Today (Saturday) afternoon, the ICC informed the Bangladesh Cricket Board BCB about the temporary ban of two bowlers. Not all deliveries of Taskin were valid, the notice said.
Akram Khan, head of BCB's cricket management department, who is in Bengaluru, said that today (Saturday) afternoon, they learned that Sunny's action has been proved illegal. Saqlain came in his place.
Questions were raised about Sunny and Taskin's bowling action in Bangladesh's first round match against the Netherlands on 9 March. He went to Chennai from Dharamshala on March 12 and took the exam. Later, captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza said that the left-arm spinner was very confident after the test. However, pace bowling coach Heath Streak claimed that there is no doubt about Taskin's action. Initially, media reports said that only Sunny was banned, but later news came that Taskin was also banned.
