The Dhaka Times Desk BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia surrendered to the court and took bail. Khaleda Zia's advisor and lawyer Khandkar Mahbub Hossain got bail today (Tuesday) in the same case.
An arrest warrant was issued against him in a Special Powers Act case in connection with the killing of people by petrol bombs in a bus in Jatrabari area of the capital during the siege. BNP leader Khaleda Zia surrendered in court today (Tuesday) and got bail.
The Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court of Dhaka had issued arrest warrant against Khaleda Zia and 28 absconding accused in the same case.
Apart from this case, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has surrendered to the court and asked for bail in the murder case filed in the Jatrabari incident, the grenade attack on the procession of Naval Minister Shajahan Khan in Gulshan and the GATCO corruption case.
It is to be noted that among the total 38 accused in this case, BNP Standing Committee member MK Anwar, the then Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Aman Ullah Aman, teacher leader Salim Bhuiyan and 6 others are on bail. Apart from this, 4 people including Shahidul Khan, Liton, Parvez are in jail.
