A book on mosque management and service programs for Muslim women in Britain has already been published. This book is said to help women work more. However, many in the Muslim community have been opposing it. They think there is no need for women to come to the mosque.
Recently, the BBC's Asian Network correspondent went to an area called Southall in Britain to collect information about this. Asian and South Asian citizens visit the Central Jama Masjid there the most. Most mosques in Britain are run by men. However, women also come and go to these mosques.
Razia Bismillah, head teacher of Central Jame Masjid, teaches about 600 children. He said, not all decisions are made by men. Those who are in the management committee are very old. A man will not understand what a woman needs, only a woman will understand. That is why a book has already been published with various guidelines so that more women can be involved in running the mosque.
