Serniabat, nephew Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani, his pregnant wife Arju Mani and the lives of Colonel Jamil who rushed to save the lives of Bangabandhu. Bangabandhu's two daughters, current Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana, escaped from the hands of the assassins because they were out of the country.

On the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of the father of the nation, the Awami League and its constituent organizations have organized a day-long Qur'an reading, memorial meeting and discussion meeting.
