85-year-old Nanibala Saha lived in Ward No. 9 of Haringhata, India. His two unmarried sons Arun (65) and Ajit (55) lived with him.
Nanibala Devi was not seen for a long time around that tiled rice house surrounded by trees. That makes the neighbors suspicious. When they asked Arun and Ajit about mom, they always said, mom is fine.
But the neighbors noticed that the two brothers were buying food from outside every day. As the suspicion grew stronger, one day recently some boys of the neighborhood entered Nanibala Devi's house on the pretext of collecting donations for Durga Puja. And then they removed the window curtain and saw a skeleton lying on the bed! They immediately reported the matter to Haringhata Municipal Chairman who informed the police.
The police went to the spot and recovered the skeleton. Two brothers Arun and Ajit were interrogated. After preliminary investigation, they said that the mother died on January 16. They lived with their mother's body for 9 months. Although the mother's body was decomposed, the two brothers poured kerosene all over the house and it is believed that no one in the neighborhood smelled the stench.
It is known that elder brother Arun already had mental problems. However, no such thing has been heard about the younger brother. Still, the police is investigating why such an incident happened.
