Presently, Muslims are offering regular prayers in this mosque built in Shirghata village of Tarafpur union of Mirzapur upazila of Tangail under Kaluzhan Bewar. An imam has also been kept in that mosque without salary.
Old lady Kaluzan Bewa said, after running the family with alms and old age allowance, I used to deposit the surplus money with Tarafpur Union Parishad Secretary Fazlur Rashid Baje. After that, I built the mosque on 24 percent of the land left by my husband with that saved money.
Union Parishad Secretary Fazlur Rashid said that he kept depositing old age allowance and alms money with him for a long time. Kaluzhan collected 2 lakh 4 thousand taka without eating like this. Although the locals advised her to spend the money saved in her husband's name, Kalujan did not listen to them and informed everyone of her thoughts.
Bazlur Rashid also said that the construction work of the mosque house has already been completed, but due to the end of the accumulated money, it was not possible to pave the floor of the house. As this mosque is built next to the land next to the road to Tarafpur-Mirzapur-Banstoil, people of the area as well as pedestrians are offering prayers. An imam has also been kept. But currently he does not take salary.
Not only that, old lady Kalujan Bewa is also bearing the cost of the mosque's candles and incense sticks!
