A rope made of aluminum and steel wire about 700 meters long will slow down the space junk and remove it from orbit.
According to media reports, a fishing net manufacturer also helped make the device. It is estimated that there are more than 100 million different types of debris in space, including discarded equipment from old satellites, rockets, and various small parts of satellites that have run off.
Many of these objects orbit the Earth at speeds of up to 28,000 km/h and have the potential to damage the world's telecommunication networks by colliding with satellites at any time.
