The Dhaka Times Desk BTCL will take registration applications from the first day of the new year after the inauguration of Bangla Domain.Bangla.
It is known that from January 1, the first stage of domain can be taken by the constitutional, government-semi-government or autonomous institutions and their affiliates.
Moreover, organizations with copyright, trademark or brand name and various international organizations including Google, Microsoft, Facebook can take dot bangla domail at this stage.
The registration for the second phase will start from February 1. Then registration will be open for everyone in Bangladesh. Apart from this, the eligible customers for the first phase can also apply for the second phase.
Domain name allotment will be on first come first serve basis. Those who have a dot bd domain can also get a dot bangla domain.
All types of customers can register online by visiting the service option of BTCL website or bdia.btcl.com.bd web address. Then the fee has to be submitted.
What is required for registration
The entire registration process can be done at home with registration fee through # teletalk.
# registration fee is Rs.500 for one year. But to get the domain for the first time, you have to deposit 1,000 rupees for a minimum period of two years.
10000 Tk for registration fee for # special words. However, which words are 'special' is yet to be determined. BTCL's decision in this regard should be considered as final for the time being.
# All fees are subject to VAT at the prescribed rate.
# domain name to be renewed within the last day of registration expiration. Renewal fee is same as registration fee.
# If not renewed within the prescribed period, the name will be suspended, but it can be renewed within the next 90 days with penalty.
# If the domain name is not renewed within 90 days with penalty, it will be open for new registration.
BTRC is going to register this domain name in Bengal about 3 months after Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) finally allotted dot bangla (.bangla) domain for Bangladesh.
