To increase the taste of water mixed with tamarind, it is being mixed with toilet cleaner! But it's not a lie, it's true. A toilet cleaner named Chetan Nanji Marwali was mixing tamarind water day after day to increase the taste!
The incident happened in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. The incident happened in 2009. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) filed a complaint in the special court in Chetan's name. A court of the country has ordered Chetan to be sentenced to 6 months imprisonment as he was proved guilty in the court last Saturday.
জানা যায়, আমেদাবাদের লাল-দরজা এলাকার বাসিন্দাদের কাছ থেকে এএমসি’র কাছে একাধিক অভিযোগ জমা পড়ে অভিযুক্ত চেতনের বিরুদ্ধে। বেশ কয়েকজন জানিয়েছে যে, চেতন কিছু একটা মেশাচ্ছেন তেঁতুল পানিতে ।
স্থানীয়রা আরও জানিয়েছেন, চেতন বেচে যাওয়া তেঁতুল পানি রাস্তায় ফেলে যেতেন। তবে লক্ষ করে দেখা যায়, যেখানে তেঁতুল ফেলা হতো রাস্তার সেই জায়গাটি ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হচ্ছিল। এরপরই তার উপর সন্দেহ জাগে স্থানীয়দের। বিষয়টি তখন তারা এএমসি’কে জানায়।
অভিযোগ পেয়ে এএমসি’র একটি দল তেঁতুল পানি সংগ্রহ করে তা পরীক্ষার জন্য পাঠায়। পরীক্ষায় জানা যায় যে, তেঁতুল পানিতে অক্সালিক অ্যাসিড মেশানো হয়েছে, যা টয়লেট ক্লিনার হিসেবে ব্যবহার করা হয়ে থাকে!
