This housewife of Ishwardi has created a storm across the country by changing her fortune by working in Nurunnahar's agriculture. He started his agricultural work with only 20 thousand rupees. He is now a millionaire. Not only that, he is currently a role model for agricultural development in Bangladesh. Received National Award for his great contribution in agriculture. He did not stop at just returning his fortune. He is currently undertaking various plans to change the fate of a thousand women.

Like other rural brides, Nurunnaha is a complete exception even though she is supposed to lead a quiet life within the confines of four walls. With indomitable passion and great courage, she is now a social development activist, woman entrepreneur and successful farmer. As a woman farmer, Nurunnahar has already won the Bangabandhu National Agriculture Gold Medal.

Nurunnahar is the wife of Rabiul Islam Biswas of Bakhtarpur village of Chalimpur union of Ishwardi upazila of Pabna district. Encouraged women in the area to engage in agriculture by intensive vegetable, fruit, poultry and cow farming. She won the City Group National Award in 2010 beating all women farmers in the country. At that time, he was awarded a cash prize of Tk 3.5 lakh, a certificate and a 24-inch color television.

This successful woman farmer Nurunnahar received the Bangabandhu National Agriculture Bronze Medal in 2011 as the country's best female farmer, the Bangabandhu National Agriculture Gold Medal in 2016 and the Machranga Award with Tk 1 lakh cash as a woman entrepreneur in 2017. He has put the people of the country on the shelf. Women entrepreneur Nurunnahar, chairperson of Jai Bangla Women's Development Women's Cooperative Society and NCDP Village Development Committee, has been organizing more than 1,000 women and working to improve their fortunes.

Nurunnahar told the media that she did not like sitting idle when her husband went out to work. In 2005, after seeing the agricultural program conducted by media personality Sheikh Siraj on Bangladesh Television, he also wanted to build a vegetable and fruit garden around the homestead. Nurunnahar did not stop after that. He cultivated red leafy greens, green leafy vegetables, brinjals, green chillies, round potatoes, onions, garlic in his backyard, and with that, the demand for vegetables was met throughout the year. He even had some extra income. She said that her first husband used to get a bit annoyed with such activities.

Mizanur Rahman, Zakir Hossain and Abdur Rashid, Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officers of Ishwardi Upazila Agriculture Office, entrusted her with the responsibility after the formation of BRAC NCDP's Women's Village Committee in Nurunnahar area in 2005. This further increased her husband's interest.

That year in September 2005, he took a loan of Tk 20,000 and made an unexpected profit by planting cauliflower, cabbage, cabbage, carrot, etc. Next year on August 31, he paid off that loan and took a loan of 20,000 taka for the second time

At that time, he came to know about Chiddikur Rahman Moiz's cool farming project in Baraichara Danipara. After buying saplings from Moiz, Nurunnahar planted a garden of 175 trees. In the first year he earned 25 thousand rupees by selling the stock. Besides, he also planted 40 guava trees of improved varieties in his yard.

Currently there are 100 cows and 4 thousand golden chickens in Nurunnahar's farm. Besides, he cultivated 2 bighas of dragon fruit, 7 bighas of guava, 6 bighas of litchi, 5 bighas of papaya, 2 bighas of bananas, 4 bighas of gourds, 4 bighas of cauliflower, 4 bighas of onions, 3 bighas of garlic, 1 bighas of tomatoes, 3 bighas of brinjal, 3 bighas of Peas, 2 bigha of wheat, 4 bigha of potato, 20 bigha of Mushu are being cultivated. Rabiul Islam Biswas, the husband of Nurunnahar, a successful farmer and chairperson of the NCDP Village Development Committee, is a businessman. Her husband Rabiul Islam deals in paddy and rice at a rice mill in Mokam, Jayanagar.

Currently, the success of Nurunnahar has spread throughout Pabna district. People from different parts of the country came to Nurunnahar to take advice on agricultural work. Nurunnahar also spread the word of his success among them. Nurunnahar is training 200 women in her village to become farmers by training them in manual agricultural work.

In 2011 and 2016, Nurunnahar won the Bangabandhu National Agriculture Medal as the country's best woman farmer and impressed the people of the country. Nurunnahar's reputation has spread throughout the country. The Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of the current government handed over the Bangabandhu National Agriculture Medal to this successful woman entrepreneur and woman farmer Nurunnahar.
