National Parliament (South Plaza)

From 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM on April 1, vehicular traffic will be closed from the western end of Manik Mia Avenue Road (Arang Crossing) to the eastern end of Manik Mia Avenue Road (Khambarari Khejur Bagan Crossing). At that time, the city residents have been requested to avoid this road.

Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC)

It has been informed that vehicular movement will be stopped from BICC Crossing through Ganobhavan School to Defense Gap from 7 am on April 1 to 10 pm on April 5. At this time, the users of that road have been requested to use the Agargaon road in front of the RAB-2 office through Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University Gap as an alternative road. However, vehicles coming to government and private offices living in that area can use that road.

It has been informed that traffic will be normal from Defense Gap to BICC crossing through Ganabhavan School.

Vehicles coming from Jahangir Gate will not be able to enter BICC crossing using Agargaon Link Road during the conference. DMP has requested the users of that road to go to their destination via Agargaon light crossing.

Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) International Airport

Most of the invited foreign guests landed at Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) International Airport on Friday, March 31, on the occasion of the IPU Conference. Later they went to the designated hotels. Special measures are taken by DMP's traffic department to ensure their safety and smooth journey to the hotel. For this, the passengers going abroad on that day are specially requested to leave for the airport with enough time to avoid delays and reach the airport on time.

It is to be noted that the 136th conference of IPU will be held at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in Dhaka on the initiative of Bangladesh National Parliament and Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) from today 1 to 5 April. About 1500 representatives including Honorable Speaker, Deputy Speaker and Members of Parliament from 171 countries will participate in this event. This conference will be held at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhavan today at 7:30 PM on April 1. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate.
