Erdogan called the Western world a hypocrite!

The Dhaka Times Desk Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called the Western world a hypocrite. He said this in an article published in the newspaper on the one year anniversary of the failed military coup attempt in the country.

In the article published in the newspaper, Erdogan accused Western countries of hypocrisy, saying that they were waiting to see what the outcome of the coup would be that day. Erdoğan also said that the western world wanted to destabilize a country.

Erdogan said the West could not deny that on that day they were basically waiting to see the 'results of the coup', betraying the ongoing friendly relations with Turkey.

The article denied allegations of mass arrests and dismissals in Turkey after the failed military coup.

Note that the coup attempt to oust Erdoğan on July 15, 2016 failed. A section of the army took to the streets of major cities with weapons and tanks and attacked various government buildings, including the parliament. The coup ultimately failed in the face of popular resistance after many civilian deaths. At least 260 people were killed in the failed coup attempt, and at least 2,196 people were injured. According to statistics, 50 thousand people were arrested after the failed coup in Turkey. At least 130 journalists were also arrested at that time. At least 7,000 people were fired from the military. Apart from this, another 140,000 educationists and government officials lost their jobs.
