The Dhaka Times Desk Parents have endless worries about the health of their children. Moreover, the child can get sick even for a very small reason. But now you don't have to worry anymore. Because the bed will tell you if your baby is healthy or not.
A technology company has developed a special type of nappy mat to monitor the physical growth and development of the baby. This nappy mat is similar to a bed or mat. Basically the baby's nappy is changed by lying on it.
This new technology bed is named 'Smart Nappy Mat'. The manufacturer said, due to this 'smart nappy mat', the baby's parents can easily monitor the health of their newborn.
As soon as the child is laid on this bed, various health information will come to the app installed on the mobile phone. Both of these will be connected through Bluetooth.
Children's health information that can be found includes - baby's weight, height, weight a week ago, when to change the baby's nappy, whether the baby is sleeping properly or not - various information.
Erin Merani, a mother of a newborn, told the media, "My child was a very small baby when he was born. He was not gaining much weight. That's why I was worried. But now I can lay him down on the nappy mat and measure his weight regularly. I don't have to go to the pediatrician every now and then. I can do this at home. without any hassle. Which is why I would say it's a great peace.”
Ann Credit Vice, CEO of Hatch Baby, a smart nappy mat manufacturer, said, with the help of this app, it will also be known when the baby's nappy needs to be changed, whether the baby has slept properly or not, whether he has eaten again or not.
“We also offer a variety of advice. Along with the growth of other children, we also provide various tips for your child's physical development. These suggestions are given from health advice to physical matters. Then parents can easily understand if there is any problem in their child,” he said.
However, many doctors said that this information can increase the stress of parents. The reason is that there was no need for this.
Dr. Seattle Children's Hospital in the United States told the media about this. Wendy Sue Swanson says, “If you pay too much attention to that much data, you're going to have to worry about it all day long. You have to chase different numbers all the time. Because of which you can't take care of your baby on time, can't even sing to him. Because of which your sleep may be disturbed. This extra unnecessary information can cause a lot of damage to the parents and even the child as a result.”
However, the officials of this smart nappy mat manufacturing company said the exact opposite. This, they say, will make it easier for parents to monitor their child's growth.
They said that they are trying to improve this technology. For example, after laying the child on the mat, the mobile phone has to be taken out of the pocket and the app launched. But in the future, it may not be necessary to pick up the phone.
