The Dhaka Times Desk BNP standing committee member and former minister MK Anwar MP and BNP joint secretary general Barkatullah Bulu MP got bail.
Today (Sunday) around 10:30 am, the bail hearing of two separate cases of these two leaders was held in the court of Metropolitan Sessions Judge Zahurul Haque. Advocate Sanaullah Mia, Advocate Masud Ahmed Talukder and more than a hundred lawyers were present on behalf of the defendants. Khabar Bangladesh News24.
On behalf of the state, PP Abdullah Abu did not oppose the bail and said that since the accused are members of parliament, the parliamentary session is starting tomorrow on June 3, so the accused can get bail on the condition of joining the parliament. The court ordered bail after hearing both parties.
It is to be noted that when MK Anwar appeared in the CMM court on May 27 in the case of defamation and religious incitement, the court canceled his bail and sent him to jail. Barkatullah Bulu MP was arrested from the gate of Kashimpur jail on May 15 and when he applied for remand in the case of vandalism, arson and cocktail explosion in front of the BNP central office on March 11, the CMM court denied remand and bail and sent him to jail on May 16. MK Anwar and Barkatullah Bulu got bail in these two cases.
It is believed that BNP will attend the parliament session as the opposition parties have demanded but they will have to bail out the MPs who are insiders. Everyone is seeing this as a step to resolve this political crisis in the country. Everyone is optimistic that the current political crisis of the country will be resolved in the parliament and peace will return to the country. Elections will be smooth under a free and fair government.
