The Dhaka Times Desk Germany ended their US tour with a thrilling 4-3 loss in Washington. Jozy Altidore's goal in the 13th minute of the match and Mark-Andre ter Stegen's own goal in the 16th minute of the match made Klinsmann's USA team strong in the first half. Germany's Heiko Westermann pulled one back shortly after the start of the second half, but two goals from USA's Clint Dempsey shortly after that sealed the match. Germany's Max Kruse and Julian Drexler added two more goals late on, but that only added to Germany's frustration.
The hosts took to the field with enthusiasm for the centenary of the game in the United States. Altidore had a chance early on but was blocked by Metasacker. He had another chance shortly after, heading in Graham Jussey's cross from the right wing, but the ball missed the post.
It was then that the German's game came to life. A left winger from a corner that wasn't fully cleared, Benedikt Houdes failed to capitalize on the first chance, but the ball went to Metasacker. He shook off DaMarcus Beasley and took a shot but couldn't put the ball in the net.
But just when it looked like Joachim Low's side had taken control of the match, they were dealt a blow. Altidore scored his goal in the international match by volleying Jussi's excellent cross from the right.
After a while the situation worsened. Benedikt Houdes made a simple pass to goalkeeper Stegen, but Stegen's mistake put the ball into Germany's own net. They went down 2-0 in the match.
After that, Germany started trying desperately to get back into the match. Andre Scharl took a shot past a couple of players from the right, but was unsuccessful. Miroslav Klose managed to get the ball into the net once but it was ruled out for offside.

Germany fans were still hoping to avoid defeat when Max Kruse made it 4-2 with a superb shot from 20 yards. That prospect became even brighter when Drexler netted another goal with 10 minutes remaining. Everyone is looking forward to a great finish to the match. Germany made several attempts to level the scores for the remainder of the period, even appealing for a penalty in stoppage time, but the final defense was not forthcoming. The United States left the field as a worthy team.
