The Dhaka Times Desk The second phase of Vishwa Ijtema has started today (Friday) on the banks of Turag river in Tongir. Biswa Ijtema has started with Am Bayan after Fajr prayer in the morning.
The annual convention of the World Tablighi Jamaat - 2nd phase of the 53rd World Ijtema began today (Friday) with Am Bayan on the banks of the Turag river in Tongir, a traditional place for Ijtema.
The second phase of this World Ijtema which started today (January 19) will end tomorrow (Sunday) January 21 with the last prayer. The entire Maidan is divided into several khittas for the incoming worshippers. Each khitta will have one Zimmadar engaged as before. Similarly, incoming Tabligh workers will also take advice from the Zimmadars assigned to each Khita on various matters.
Tabligh Jamaat's biggest gathering is held in January every year. Due to non-combination of space, at present two years follow each other, i.e. 32 districts in one year and 32 districts in the next year. And these 32 districts will also be divided into two parts in the first phase of 16 districts and in the second phase of 16 districts people will participate in it. This year's World Ijtema will end on January 21 with the last prayer.
Thousands of people started coming to the Ijtema Maidan from the previous day. But today after Fajr, many people especially people from the neighborhood came to the Ijtema Maidan. Friday prayers will be held today in which millions of Muslims will participate.
This is the first time in the history of Tabligh Jamaat that a major criticism has started on Maulana Saad Kandhalvi, the teacher of Tabligh Jamaat in India. Later it was resolved. Maulana Saad did not go to Ijtema this time and returned to India from Kakrail.
