The Dhaka Times Desk From today (Monday), complaints regarding mobile phone and internet and other telecommunications can be made to BTRC by calling 100 number.
A new shortcode is being introduced from today (Monday) after canceling the previous shortcode '2872' for receiving and resolving telecommunication related complaints of mobile customers. Complaints can be made by dialing this new shortcode number 100. Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has announced that the new number will be launched from Monday (February 26).
Quoting an official who did not wish to be named, the media reported that the decision to launch the new number was taken at the commission meeting of BTRC. This new (100) shortcode is being used so that everyone can remember it easily.
As per the decision of BTRC, the call center called Complaints for Telecommunication Service (CTS) established and managed by BTRC has been operating for a long time, using the shortcode '2872' based on the approval of the Commission, for the purpose of receiving and resolving the complaints of customers using mobile phones and other telecommunication facilities including internet.
However, considering the interest of the customer, the ongoing shortcode was canceled in the 211st meeting of the Commission to facilitate easy remembering by the public. The new three digit shortcode is '100'. The CTS center is said to have been guided by this code.
