An Indian woman traveled 4200 miles from England to India by air showing her husband's passport. In other words, he moved from Manchester to Delhi. Emirates Airlines authorities are investigating how such an incident happened.
According to media reports, the woman's relatives said that she took her husband's passport by mistake on April 23 while going on business.
According to the news, the woman named Geeta Modha arrived in New Delhi, the capital of India, from Manchester, United Kingdom by Emirates Airlines. But the most surprising thing is that she reached New Delhi without a hitch by showing her husband's passport. It is not understood why the matter was not caught even during check-in at the airport and on the plane. After reaching Delhi, the 55-year-old woman realized that she had come on her husband's passport!
The traveling woman, Geeta Modha, is a British citizen of Indian origin. She forgot her husband Dilip's passport while coming to Delhi from Manchester on business.
Emirates Airlines has already expressed regret after the incident. Aviation authorities said that they did not follow normal standards in this case. Aviation authorities are investigating how a woman could fly 4,200 miles by showing her husband's passport.
Geeta Modha's close relative said she realized her mistake while filling the immigration form after reaching Delhi. Later immigration did not allow him to enter India. He was sent back to Dubai on the next flight. Geeta stayed at the airport for almost one night in Dubai. Geeta was later allowed to fly to Delhi only after submitting her own passport to the airlines.
The relative also said that the matter is very sad. Geeta gets very worried. First he had plenty of time to bring his own passport if the matter was caught at check in. But when the matter was caught, he had nothing else to do.
An Emirates spokesperson said, "We express our condolences to Geeta Modha for this incident."
According to Emirates, Geeta arrived at Modha airport 3 hours before the scheduled time. Manchester Airport Authority said it was the airlines authority's responsibility to catch the matter. It is mentioned that they are working together with the airport authorities on this issue with special importance.
