Rituparna Ghosh's life was also marked by artistic sense and taste. He was a bookworm. His rooms were full of rare and valuable books of art and literature. The West Bengal state government is considering setting up a museum to commemorate Rituparna. Rituparn and his collection of films, books, paintings, music and various useful materials will be placed there.

A meeting was organized in Kolkata last week to commemorate Rituparna. State Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was present there. At that time actress and film director Aparna Sen proposed to establish a museum in Rituparn's ancestral home. Mamata also accepted the proposal. Among others in the meeting were Soumitra Chatterjee, Madhavi Mukherjee and others.

According to Indian media, apart from the ancestral home, Rituparn has two apartments in Kolkata. He decorated all the three houses according to his taste. These houses have hundreds of thousands of precious books, paintings, ornaments, lampshades and lakhs of jewels. Among them are own watches, sunglasses, china pottery, shawls, handkerchiefs, scarves. He has always had a special attraction towards collecting things of old historical style. It is estimated that the price of these items in his collection will be several crores of rupees.

Many people who were associated with Rituparna spoke at the memorial meeting. Among them, Dr. Rituparna teacher and historian. Narsingh Prasad said, 'Shelves and shelves of books all over the walls of his room. There are thousands of books. But not one of them was ever seen as messy.'

Sanjay Nag, who made a film about Rituparna, said that Rituparna was a huge fan of Rabindranath. A collection of Rabindranath's books is considered a matter of pride in any Bengali family. But Rituparna used to collect all critical books of Rabindranath's literature. Another favorite of his was 'Mahabharata', he collected several important books on this epic. There are paintings by famous painters like Paresh Maiti, Yogen Chowdhury and Shuboprasanna in his house. He also collected various paintings on Buddha, masks and other things from different places in India and outside the country. In 2011, he brought some glassware from Spain. He made his own paintings on those glasses and bottles. Tables, chairs, cots and home furniture also have the impression of his advanced and classical taste. It is known that some of these materials have been used in the films Chitrangada and Abhaman.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, 'These items will be made available to the public. As a result, students will also be able to research his work.

It should be noted that the famous filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh passed away at the age of 49 on May 30. His inimitable style of production will forever be immortalized not only in films but also in the cultural arena of Bengalis.
