The new 'Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome (MIS-A)' disease can be fatal even for the elderly, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) warns.
MIS-A disease was first detected in April last year and it also causes inflammation in multiple organs. There are several symptoms of this disease. Which includes fever for more than 5 days, skin rash or rash, throat swelling, dry and chapped lips, red hands or toes, red eyes and diarrhea.
Multiple studies have shown that a new, mysterious disease in children called MIS is linked to the coronavirus. Many patients with the disease test positive for the virus or develop antibodies against the disease, indicating a recent infection.
The CDC has so far identified 27 cases of MIS-A in adults, all between the ages of 21 and 50.
