This dinosaur specimen was discovered in 2007. Now they say it was the largest dinosaur ever found on the continent of Australia.
According to a BBC news, body parts or fossils of monstrous dinosaurs have also been found in different parts of the world. This Australian species is one of the 15 largest species. This dinosaur was 21 feet tall and about 100 feet long. It was about the size of a basketball court.
Its bones were first found in southwestern Queensland. Research on this bone has been going on for the past decade. Only then were scientists convinced that it was indeed a different species of dinosaur.
These dinosaurs were mainly herbivores. They are also known for their shape. They have small heads, long necks, long tails and columnar legs. In the Cretaceous period, i.e. about 100 million years before today, these dinosaurs roamed the world.
