The Dhaka Times Desk After digging a tunnel in Bogra's Adamdighi in the same style, almost 32 lakh taka was stolen from the vault of Sonali Bank.
It is known that a shopkeeper next to the bank saw this tunnel at around 6 pm on Saturday. The shopkeeper reported the matter to the bank gatekeeper and the officials were immediately informed. After learning about the incident, the local police station informed the police and then the police arrived at the scene. Initially, it was reported that about 32 lakh rupees were stolen through that tunnel.
Adamdighi police station police initially detained 4 people including two night watchmen of the bank, owner and employee of the shop next to the bank for questioning in this incident.
At other times banks were closed on Saturday but four state-owned banks were kept open for deposits of candidates for reserved women's seats.
It is to be noted that recently 16 lakh taka was looted by tunneling in Sonali Bank in Kishoreganj. Later, however, its owner Sohail along with some other policemen arrested and recovered the money.
