The Dhaka Times Desk In the fourth phase of the 91 upazila elections held yesterday, Awami League won 53 chairman positions privately, BNP supported candidates won 26, Jamaat supported 5, Jatiya Party 1, JSS 1 and independent candidates won 2 upazilas.
The results of Kutubdia in Cox's Bazar, Galachipa in Patuakhali and Ghazaria in Munshiganj have been suspended due to the complaint.
In yesterday's election, there was widespread violence, vote rigging, center occupation. Voting was completed in 91 upazilas of 43 districts of the country yesterday at 8 am on Sunday. Various incidents of violence including fake votes, rigging, occupying the center, clashes have taken place.
Since the beginning of polling, there have been incidents of violence between BNP supporters and law enforcement forces with Awami League supporters in various upazilas. It has been reported that 4 people have been killed in different places. Law enforcement personnel were also injured at various places. Hundreds of supporters of all sides were also injured.
