BNP's 2-day long march towards Teesta is starting with the demand of getting fair share of water. At 8:30 in the morning, the long march started from the front premises of Hazrat Shahjalal Airport in the capital with more than two hundred vehicles. BNP has made all kinds of preparations to make the 2-day long march towards Teesta a success even in the heat of Baisakh. Since this long march is related to the interests of the country, BNP has made extensive preparations to involve the people from all levels as well as the leaders and activists in this program. The 19-party alliance has given official support to this program.
This long march program was announced on April 16. Since then various preparations are going on. Posters and leaflets are being distributed all over the country including the capital since the announcement of the program. On the other hand, every affiliated organization including BNP has held several preparatory meetings.
Meanwhile, the government is also ready to see that there is no disorder in this program. The law and order forces have made extensive preparations so that no one can worsen the law and order situation in the name of long march. However, BNP has repeatedly said that they want to do this long march peacefully. Since this is a country issue, they also sought the cooperation of the government and government parties.
On the other hand, in 16 districts of Rajshahi and Rangpur, the two northern divisions of the country, the leaders and workers have made all kinds of preparations including various campaigns. BNP Acting General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will lead the long march.
