Dhaka Times Desk At least 50 people were killed and more than 600 people were injured in a train accident in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina. Khabar Bangladesh News 24.com.
The accident took place on the morning of February 22 when the train collided on the way out of the station platform.
Witnesses said the train hit the end of the platform at a speed of about 20 kilometers per hour during the collision. The front engine of the train was twisted and the driver was also trapped in it. Most of the casualties are said to have been caused by the twisted iron and glass of the rear compartments in the collision.
There were many passengers including children in the train at the time of the accident. Many people are still trapped inside the train. Work is going on to rescue the injured trapped inside the train.
Note that 11 people were killed in a bus-train collision in Buenos Aires in September last year.
