The Dhaka Times Desk On the 17th day of the Savar tragedy, the home of Reshma, a small village in Ghoraghat upazila of Dinajpur, is celebrating. The locals have been cheering since they got their girl back because she survived the death pit.
Reshma's elder sister Fatema Begum first saw Reshma's video footage on television on Friday afternoon. After that she told the matter to her husband Hafizur Rahman. The people of that area are overjoyed after suddenly getting Reshma. After receiving the news, thousands of people started gathering at Singra Union Parishad.
Singra UP Chairman Mujibur Rahman Pradhan said, "At first I could not believe that Reshma was alive. It is truly incredible that one can survive on the 17th day. However, I thank God that the girl returns to this area.”
Reshma's father Ansar Ali died 17 years ago. Later a man named Arjan Ali from the same area married Reshma's mother Jabera. Jabera's former husband Ansar Ali has 2 sons Sadek Ali and Zahidul Islam and three daughters Asma, Fatema and Reshma. Reshma is the youngest among the siblings.
On hearing the news, Reshma's mezzo sister Asma Savar arrives at the scene. He was taken to CMH in an army vehicle.
Reshma got married to Abdur Razzak, Reshma's previous acquaintance, 4 years ago. But Razzak sometimes identified him as a resident of Dinajpur and sometimes as a resident of Birampur. Abdur Razzaq left Reshma and ran away six months ago.
For a long time, Reshma used to work in a garment on the third floor of Rana Plaza. Reshma has a brother and a sister working in garments in Dhaka.
Reshma's elder sister Fatema Begum said, "Since the Savar tragedy, I used to watch TV all the time and prayed to God to get my sister back. When I saw Reshma on TV today, I couldn't hold back my tears." He also said, "Allah has heard me. He has returned my sister to me.”
Fatema's husband Hafizur Rahman said, "After the Savar tragedy, we waited for Reshma's body for 17 days. Thank God very much.”
Although her husband abandoned her, Reshma was indomitable in the battle of life. This time Savar's morale went one step further in this tragic incident. Reshma fought in the death pit for 17 days. In the end he won. All the famous media of the world have published the story of Reshma's rescue seriously. Reshma is no longer just an ordinary busybody. Reshma is now an indomitable woman's name. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina herself rushed to Savar after the rescue yesterday. He assured Reshma, also took responsibility for the remaining days of her life. Reshma, who created history in the world, will now only move forward towards a bleak future.
