This historic Jawatha Mosque in Saudi Arabia was established in 629 AD. The importance of this mosque in the history of Islam is so great. According to history, this mosque was the first mosque in the eastern region of Saudi Arabia. Although there is nothing much about this mud mosque, prayers are still offered here. The main structure of this mosque has been destroyed long ago.
This mosque was built by the Bani Abdul Qais tribe in the seventh century. which lived there before and even before the Islamic era. This mosque is considered to be the first mosque built in Eastern Province.
Most of the mosques have lost their original structure. The rest is also on the verge of destruction. There are only 5 small mud-brick arches. The visible ruins probably date back to the 9th century. According to Wikipedia sources, the current structure of the mosque is modeled after the design of Masmak Fort in Saudi Arabia.
