India has come to this position for the second time in a row by coming to the third position in the list of countries that have suffered the most terrorist attacks in the world. But the most surprising thing is that Pakistan is less affected by terrorism than India in the list of the US State Department! This was reported by Times of India.
The study was conducted by the University of Maryland's National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism, funded by the US State Department. India has Iraq and Afghanistan in that list.
According to US State Department data, 53 percent of all terrorist attacks in India in 2017 were carried out by Maoists. On the other hand, this Maoist group is on the fourth place in the list of the worst terrorist organizations in the world. The Islamic State (SI), Taliban and Al-Shabaab are ahead of the Maoists on the list.
According to the US report, till 2015, Pakistan was the third country in the world to be the victim of terrorist attacks. However, India has overtaken Pakistan in terms of terrorist attacks in the last two years.
In 2017, there was a 24 percent increase in terrorist attacks in Kashmir. The number of people killed in those attacks increased by 89 percent. A total of 860 terrorist attacks occurred in India in 2017, of which 25 percent occurred in Kashmir.
It should be noted that in 2016, India was at the third position in the list of countries affected by terrorist attacks. In the previous year i.e. in 2015, Pakistan was on the third place in the list of countries affected by terrorist attacks.
