Plans to build state-of-the-art cineplexes in different areas of the capital

The Dhaka Times Desk At present, as the old cinema halls are closed down, preparations are being made to build digital cinema halls. Cineplexes are planned to be built in different areas of the capital.

Cineplexes are becoming a reliable place in the cinema market in these days of recession in the country's cinema business. The matter was brought to the attention of the Star Cineplex authorities of the capital. The company is also getting into movie production. Cineplex authorities have taken steps to increase not only the production but also the cinema hall.

Day by day the crisis of cinema halls is becoming more and more evident. Many cinema halls in the country have closed due to losses. Cinema hall owners are closing down theaters mainly due to lack of business success. The commercial genre movies have also failed one after another. However, Cineplexes survive by showing domestic and foreign films.

There is also a possibility of creating a market for different genres of films in the coming days. As is happening in the neighboring country India. Cineplexes in India are currently doing a booming business rather than ordinary cinema halls.

Chairman of Star Cineplex Mahbubur Rahman said that plans have been taken to build cineplexes in some important areas of the capital. These are slated to be Dhanmondi, Mohakhali, Uttara and Purbachal City Cineplexes.

Last Monday was the 14th anniversary celebration of Star Cineplex. In that event, Mahbubur Rahman said, 'Three multiplexes have been constructed in Dhanmondi of the border area in modern design. The work has already been completed and will be officially launched soon. Besides, there are plans to construct a multiplex in Mohakhali for the residents of Gulshan, Banani and its surrounding areas of the capital. Its preliminary work has also started.

Cineplex will also be constructed in Uttara and Purbachal areas. Viewers have seen 3DX technology in cineplexes for a long time. Chairman of Star Cineplex Mahbubur Rahman also said that the newly constructed multiplexes will be shown in Korea's advanced FourDX technology.
