The police are not sure whether Mita Noor's death was murder or suicide. However, Assistant Professor of Forensic Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital Md. Sohail Mahmud told reporters yesterday that initially it is believed to be suicide. Mita Noor's report (viscera) may take another month. Only after the full report comes will it be known whether it was murder or suicide.

Regarding the recent quarrel, Rana said, two days ago we were supposed to go to a party together. I could not go there for official work. He went to my Niketan office last Saturday around 4 pm. He argued with me about why I couldn't go to the party. At one point, when the police came to know about the dispute, Mita threatened to file a case against me. After some time, when the situation normalized, we both had dinner together and returned home. After that, he claimed that there was no trouble between us for the last two days.
Mita Noor's husband also said that last Sunday I called my elder son due to the pressure of office work and said that I cannot return at night. But around 3 pm I changed my mind and came home. When I came home, I found several empty packets of sleeping pills lying on the stairs. Sometimes we take medicine if we have difficulty sleeping. That's why I didn't pay much attention to it.
Rana also said, we all eat together till 12:30 in the night and I talk about various things with my son. Then Mita and I fell asleep. I woke up at 6:30 in the morning to find my younger son packing his bag to go to school. At that time, when I asked about his mother, he said that he did not see her after waking up. After that I found his body hanging with a fan in the drawing room and informed the police of Gulshan police station.
Meanwhile, a police source said, Mita Noor was not killed. He committed suicide. It is 100% sure. However, in this case there is a motivation to commit suicide. Mita Noor's father filed a wrongful death case, but he also suspected suicide. If there is any evidence of murder in the viscera report of the CID police, then maybe he can file a case.
