The Dhaka Times Desk Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) highlighted the progress of Bangladesh's software and IT services at the World Trade Organization's 'Aid for Trade' conference.
According to online sources, the World Trade Organization (WTO) conference was held from July 8 to 10 in Geneva, Switzerland. In the conference, BASIS President Fahim Mashroor emphasized the importance of job creation and youth empowerment as a special success of Bangladesh's information technology industry.
Fahim Mashroor participated as a panelist in two sessions titled 'Connecting to Information and Communication Technology Value Chain' and 'Trade of Business Opportunities for Least Developed Countries'. Hundreds of representatives from more than 50 countries of the world were present at this time. In his speech, BASIS President also highlighted the progress of software and IT services exports in recent years.
It should be noted that the software and IT sector of Bangladesh is currently advancing at a fast pace in keeping with other countries in the world. Several IT institutions of the country have already managed to gain fame in different countries of the world.
