The Dhaka Times Desk France has found the missing submarine with 52 sailors 50 years ago. The missing submarine named La Minerve was recently found in the Mediterranean Sea.
Yesterday (Monday) the defense minister of France announced the submarine. In a tweet after the submarine was found, the country's defense minister, Florence Parley, said it was a success, a relief from pain and a technological achievement.
Florence Parley also said, "I think of all the families who have waited so long for a moment like this."
According to local media reports, a boat belonging to a private company in the United States found the submarine at a depth of 2370 meters in the Mediterranean Sea. An underwater drone search revealed that the submarine had broken into three pieces.
The submarine La Minerve sank in January 1968 while conducting naval exercises near the port of Toulon, southern France. French authorities launched an intensive search for the submarine after it disappeared on January 17. But then it was no longer found.
Note that at that time, the search team of the legendary French oceanographer Jacques Cousteau, consisting of hundreds of engine boats, helicopters, airplanes and a submarine, also failed to locate this La Minerva.
