Ali Kamal was first a journalist in the early 20th century. Later he joined politics. At the end of the Ottoman (Ottoman) Caliphate, he briefly became the Minister of the Interior. In the 1920s, Ali Kamal was killed in a massacre.

According to his father, Boris Johnson once went to Turkey to meet his relatives and stayed there for some time.
