Bahadur Shah Park
The historic Bahadur Shah Park stands near Sadarghat in Old Dhaka. Jagannath University is situated to the west and the District Court is to the north west. Earlier this Bahadur Shah Park was called Victoria Park. The park was named Bahadur Shah Park after Bahadur Shah Zafar as a symbol of the unity of the Sepoy War to pay respect to the martyred heroes of the Sepoy revolution of 1857.
Baldha Garden
It is mainly a botanical garden located in Warri. Baldhar zamindar Narendra Narayan Roy Chowdhury started construction of this garden in 1909 on 3.38 acres of land; It took about 8 years to complete. The garden has about 18 thousand plants including 800 plants of rare species.
Currently there are 672 species of plants. The garden also has many species of trees, which cannot be found anywhere else in Bangladesh. Zamindar Narendra Narayan Roy Chowdhury created Baldha Garden by dividing it into two parts right between Wari, Tikatuli and Narinda.
One side of Baldha Garden is named Saiki and the other side is named Sibili. Not everyone is allowed to enter the psyche part of Baldha Garden. It has been closed. This is because there are some rare species of trees, which are likely to be destroyed by human traffic. Saiki has blue, red and white flowers along with colorful padma, tola jaba, aparajita, cactus, jaba, palm trees, etc. There is also a once-in-a-century flowering plant called 'Century Plant'. It is open from 8 am to 11 am and 2 pm to 5 pm every day of the week.
