Apart from this, the virus has already spread to 7 other countries, causing concern and anxiety around the world.
As of yesterday (Wednesday), the death toll was only 9 and 440 people were reported to be infected. On the same day, according to the government, 8 more people died and 100 people were infected. The World Health Organization (WHO) has held an emergency meeting about this corona virus in China. The organization also fears that this human-to-human virus will spread globally.
Leading scientists say the virus in Wuhan has infected twice as many people as estimated. According to China, 483 people have been tested and confirmed to be infected with the virus. However, China also reported that there are another 2,197 patients who are still unconfirmed.
It should be noted that at the end of last year, the first infection of this flu type of corona virus was seen in Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei province. As the situation worsens, Chinese authorities have announced a ban on all traffic from Wuhan yesterday. The Chinese government has also issued strict travel warnings for Hubei province and its capital, Wuhan.
About 89 million people live in Wuhan city. After originally originating from that city, the virus spread to other provinces including the capital Beijing. There have also been outbreaks of the disease in the neighboring countries of Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, South Korea, Macau and the United States, United Kingdom and Australia.
The acting head of the World Health Organization, Van Kerkhove, said in this regard that they have given instructions to all hospitals around the world on the transmission, prevention and control of the new virus that has spread from China. It is also known that Chinese citizens are being screened at airports in many countries around the world to avoid transmission of the virus. That system has also been introduced at the airport in Bangladesh.
At least 15 medical workers in China have been infected with the virus. As reported by Reuters, the symptoms of infection with this virus are fever, cough and shortness of breath. The severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) virus is transmitted from person to person, causing illnesses such as pneumonia.
Note that in 2002-03, a Sars virus spread in the form of an epidemic in China. Then hundreds of people died due to the virus. It is not yet possible to say whether this virus will become a pandemic. However, the rate at which people are being infected with this disease every day and the way it is spreading, there is a fear that the death toll will increase. That is why the World Health Organization is also going to be very active and take necessary initiatives.
